The Rogue Valley is primarily known for its pear orchards and is
the inspiration for the landscape design and ultimately became the
principle element. Many fruit trees planted throughout the community
in perfect rows emulates the linear planting of real orchards and
creates consistency throughout the unique landscape design. All
of the hardscape features were designed to suggest the remnants
of the orchard's original farm house, barn, and utilities. The "original"
smokehouse, outfitted with a fireplace, will be an indoor/outdoor
gathering place for residents. The "old" well is now a water fountain.
The "old" feed trough is now a raised planter in the central courtyard,
and the "old" earthen ramp that was used in the barn and its foundation
will serve as the main water feature and seating area.
...that’s agri-chic.
