Architect
Looking back at the last few months working on The Farms of Jacksonville,
there are a couple of things that stand out. The first is what a
pleasurable and successful endeavor it has been to work with Sebren
Development. Their commitment to a quality development permeates
every aspect of the project from the site layout to the interior
finishes and their vision for something a little more than the usual
made our job much more rewarding. Secondly, what a unique opportunity
to design a project with such a solid, well thought out design concept.
From beginning to end, the modern farm concept has proven itself.
First as a design concept that could easily blend with the unique
and wonderful historic fabric of Jacksonville and therefore something
the city planning staff could support 100%. Secondly it’s a concept
that could be clearly and creatively expressed in the landscape
and courtyard features of the development, such as in the orchard
and earthen ramp, as well as in the architectural design of the
buildings, expressed for example, in the buildings' simple farmhouse
forms, front porches and traditional materials. And lastly, the
modern farm concept fulfills the critical Sebren desire for a contemporary
development with generous nods to the modern world, including a
playful use of the traditional materials, simplified detailing and
open floor plans. The result is a unique and lively community that
fits snugly into its extraordinary surroundings and one that I am
happy to have been a contributing member.

As Sebren Development's first "ground-up" project, it was important
for us to create a product of quality and unique sophistication
not only for our buyers but also for our neighbors and the City
of Jacksonville. It was our intention to develop a community that
would become a part of Jacksonville's rich history for the years
to come. To do this, we assembled a creative team of exceptional
individuals that were able to conceptualize the vision of the project
and execute on the plan with a collaborative spirit and a dedication
to perfection. By taking architectural cues from the local structures
and using the Rogue Valley as a backdrop, our team carefully adapted
these elements into a modern interpretation that resulted in the
most unique planned community development in Southern Oregon. With
the home owner in mind, the layout of each home is efficient. Finish
materials and products were hand picked based on their quality,
convenience, and modern aesthetic.
We would like to thank the neighbors and the City for their
cooperation with the creation of the project and their patience
during its construction. Additionally, we would like to thank our
team members for their commitment and dedication to the success
of this project.
We are very proud of this project and hope that each home owner will
enjoy living in the community as much as we have enjoyed the process
of its creation.
